Lights, Camera, Action!

It was a lovely evening. The culmination of nearly a year of preparation. Framed in contemporary maple, the prints made their public debut with the sounds of Fats Waller, Josephine Baker, and Glenn Miller in the background. Due to copyright restrictions, I had to mute the sound on the YouTube video but imagine his rich, sonorous voice and the driving bass line of his stride piano.

Everyone who came tonight had a genuine interest in Dorothy’s art and those who being introduced to her, were mightily impressed. The library exhibit was a hit. Most did not know about her varied talents and spent time reading the material and asking questions.

This is the end of one journey and the continuation of another. And perhaps even the beginning of something new and unexpected. Stay tuned.

But until then, as the sun goes down on Santa Fe, I say goodnight Dorothy. Sleep tight, and thank you for being here and everywhere. 🙂
